Does Nanes Schnitzer’s Wife Hold Belizean Nationality Too?
According to Brackett, while strong criticism of the decision to free Nanes on bond may be seen as contempt of court, the role of the justice system in releasing the wanted Ponzi scheme alleged fraudster should be called to question.
Geovannie Brackett, President, COLA
“Can you imagine the U.S. Marshals took couple weeks to look for this individual, caught this individual, put him in Belize authorities’ hands, the hands of Belizean authorities and then right after that this individual gets bail. Comparing that with two mothers who were caught stealing, not to say that one crime is less or more important or trying to defend what these ladies were caught up in, but they have children and they were denied bail, yet this individual was given bail. A fugitive was given bail and two mothers could not have received bail. We question the judgment in the court system as well and we have to be very careful how we criticize the judgment of the court but it is very clear that there are a lot of questions as to how justice is being distributed in this nation and it seems so unfair or imbalanced. There’s a host of other issues that I think this one particular issue stems and springs out into.”
Of note is that his assets are reportedly in the name of his wife, Hasibe Elizabeth Ancona. And the question now arises whether his wife also holds Belizean nationality.
