Teenager Stabbed Multipe Times in Armenia
A near-fatal assault during which an eighteen-year-old was stabbed multiple times in Armenia Village has left one person hospitalized. Sometime before nine o’clock on Saturday morning, Daniel Edaldo Esevado was accosted by a pair of men while standing near a store in the village. One of the men, wielding a sharp instrument believed to have been a knife, inflicted injuries to Esevado’s neck and the lower right side of the back. While a motive is unclear, Esevado remains hospitalized at the K.H.M.H. after being transferred from the Western Regional Hospital in a critical but stable condition. In other crime news over the weekend, a supervisor of Belize Western Energy Limited, BWEL, reported to Ladyville police that on Friday evening, shortly before five o’clock, he was held up at gunpoint. According to the employee, when he arrived at the branch office he saw two male persons who had black shirts concealing their identities. The duo then advanced toward him and one of them demanded money while the other entered the office. The thieves made off with a cell phone and nine hundred and thirty-seven dollars in cash. Police investigations continue.
