MMR Attorney Says Her Clients Did Not Steal Swasey’s Idea
Mek Mi Rich is owned by businessman Sanjay Hotchandani and Andre Vega, the son of the Deputy Prime Minister, Gaspar Vega. MMR Belize Limited attorney, Naima Barrow, expressed confidence in the outcome of the case for her client. She denies that Swasey’s ideas were used by MMR and that the game is different from what was proposed by Swasey. In fact she says that Swasey could not provide any proof that B.T.L. had breached a confidentiality agreement.

“I think it is clear, the claimant recognized that the concept of SMS texting to purchase lottery tickets or Boledo does not belong to him; that is what the intellectual property is required for and the design are different, So we feel that we are in a comfortable place at the end of the hearing. We have some more submissions to make and it won’t be conclude until February. So I can’t say with any certainty how this case will go but we are very comfortable where we are now.”
