Missing policeman?s body found in Corozal

It would have taken a miracle to find that police constable Morris Martinez, missing since December twenty-second, was alive…but miracles are in short supply in Belize these days. Today the heavily decomposed body of Martinez was discovered by police off a cane feeder road between Corozal Town and Consejo. Investigators believe that Martinez, last seen at a Corozal bar, had gone with a female companion to a remote lovers lane. There the couple was attacked by a gang of men who robbed and abducted them, later killing Martinez. The three suspects: Elio Lopez, Apolonio Cervera and Edmund Crawford Sanker Jr., have already been charged with the robberies and it is expected that they will soon face charges of homicide.
