New roster of CEOs released

Following any Cabinet shuffle, especially one in which the number of ministers is reduced, there usually comes a reassignment of chief executive officers. Today, in the wake of last week’s departure of four ministers, the Prime Minister’s Office has released the new CEO line-up. The names and posts, effective January first, are as follows:

The Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet announces that effective January 1st 2005, Chief Executive Officers of the Government of Belize are deployed as follows:

Robert Leslie, Secretary to the Cabinet in the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry of Defence.

Carla Barnett, Financial Secretary

Cresencio Sosa, CEO (Finance/Revenue), Ministry of Finance

Nigeli Sosa, Deputy Financial Secretary

Elson Kaseke, Solicitor General, Attorney General’s Ministry

Patricia Mendoza, CEO, Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment

Marian McNab, CEO, Ministry of Education

Lawrence Sylvester, (acting) CEO , Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism

Sandra Hall, CEO, Ministry of Health, Energy and Communications

Alan Usher, CEO, Ministry of Home Affairs and Investment

Margaret Ventura, CEO, Ministry of the Public Service, Works and Transport

Eberto May, CEO, Ministry of Housing

Michael Tewes, CEO, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries

Anita Zetina, CEO , Ministry of Human Development

Roy Cayetano, CEO, Ministry of Local Government, Labour and Rural Development

Hugh O’Brien, CEO, Ministry of National Development.

In other appointments, former Chief Executive Officer, Jose Alpuche, has been appointed Director General for Foreign Trade in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, while Yvette Alvarez has been appointed a Deputy Governor of the Central Bank.
