Safiyyah finds entertainment for the weekend
Summer’s here and if you’re staying in the Jewel, there are concerts, plays, DJ Competitions and much more. And Safiyyah got a massage at a place you want to visit.
Hey I’m Safiyyah and this is what’s happening?
Tonight marks the beginning of the Feature Friday Summer concert series. This concert series will begin tonight and continue on for the next four Fridays. Tonight’s concert features Silas Sabal and Vidal backed by the New Rebels Band. This will all be held on the intersection near Tech Design in Dangriga Town. Tickets are $2 for adults and children under twelve enter free.
Saturday is the Independence Day of the US and in celebration of that there will be a family fun day being held at the Belikin brewery. This fun day will run from 11a.m. until 7p.m. There will be lots of food, drinks, games and fireworks displays. So go up to the Old Airport Road in Ladyville and enjoy the fun of the fourth celebration.
This Saturday night, there will be the premier of a play called “One by one, Day by Day” put together by the Youth for the Future. This play will feature the Talents of Elizabeth Tate and will address the stigmas and discrimination in the society. The play will be held inside the Hattieville Community Center and will begin at 6:30p.m.
The huge event everyone is talking about is the first annual 45 Shoot Out DJ competition being presented by Smart. This musical war is being held inside Club Next. The night will have heated competition between popular sound systems like Belizean Movements, Mad Squad, and Presi D amongst many others. This is definitely a night when all the DJs will be bringing out all they’ve got. So get there early and be a part of turntable history.
And in San Pedro this Saturday night there will be a huge Fourth of July Blow out Party inside the Coconuts Resort. This bash will feature music by Tagg International and there will even be a $2000 balloon drop. This is a red, white and blue affair so check it out. You know what they say what happens in San Pedro stays in San Pedro.
In Orange Walk this Saturday night there will be a huge rock concert featuring Abraxas, one of the biggest rock bands in Sugar City. This concert will be held inside the Acuario nightclub and promises to be a hype one. To help get the energy going Acuario will be giving away free Red Bull during the concert. They will also be giving away a free cell phone at midnight. So if you’re in Orange Walk you can head over to Acuario and check that out.
On Sunday there will be a football match between Hankook Verdes and Belize Defence force. This game will be held at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio. The gates will open at 2p.m. and the match will begin at 4p.m. There will be live music as well as lots of food and drinks on sale. Entrance is $10 and free for children under fifteen. This is definitely a family affair.
