3 Persons busted With Weed at OW Checkpoint
Three men were busted at a checkpoint in the area of the toll bridge on the Phillip Goldson Highway. Just before midnight on Friday, a vehicle with license plates BZ-C-34105 was stopped and checked. Travelling in the vehicle were thirty-one year-old Alrick Smith, twenty-seven year old Norely Cruz, both of Ladyville and thirty two year old Ming Pei Chuy of Lords Bank. When police searched the vehicle, they found three large parcels of cannabis amounting to five point nine pounds. Smith, Cruz and Chuy were arrested and charged for drug trafficking. But there was a bigger bust in the west also on Friday. Benque Police were conducting patrols on the George Price Highway in the vicinity of Clarissa Falls. There they spotted two persons carrying large sacks. Police say the individuals dropped the cargo and fled in the nearby bushes. When the sacks were retrieved they were found to contain over twenty pounds of cannabis.
