32-year-old Remanded for Sexual Abuse of 12-year-old

A Belize City man who is almost three times the age of his alleged victim was arraigned today on a charge of unlawful sexual intercourse.  The accused is thirty-two year old Dalton Longsworth of a Victoria Street address.  Allegations against Longsworth are that on November eleventh, 2015, he sexually abused a twelve year old girl. Bail could not be granted at this time and Longsworth was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until February twenty-ninth, 2016.   After he was read the charge, Longsworth asked Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser permission to speak and that’s when he said that at no time did he have a sexual relationship with the minor.  According to Longsworth, at the time of the alleged incident, he was at home sick in bed.
