Comedian Steve Harvey asked to Host 2016 Costa Maya Pageant

If you thought that after Sunday’s blunder at the Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas, Steve Harvey won’t get to emcee another beauty pageant, well think again. Millions watched as Harvey crowed Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as Miss Universe only to hand over the crown to Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach moments later. Well, as it turns out, Harvey has been invited to emcee the annual La Reina de la Costa Maya Pageant held in San Pedro in August.  The invitation has gone viral all over the world. We were the first to post it on our Facebook today and the number of hits is growing leaps and bounds.  The invite was issued by the Belize Tourism Board and reads: “Dear Steve Harvey, we all make mistakes. You handled yours with class. Would you host our next pageant?”  We confirmed with the folks at the Costa Maya Organization and they confirmed the request to Harvey. If one thing it is doing, it is putting the lime light on the Costa Maya pageant. The talk show host has apologized for fumbling saying he made an honest mistake and is yet to respond to the Belize invitation and even though we didn’t have a representative, the pageant was viewed nationally by Belizeans.
