Transparent Gives Generously to Salvation Army Cause
The Salvation Army is the recipient of a generous donation from Transparent BPO today. The customer service company handed over a check for five thousand dollars to Regional Commander Major Joliker Leandre to be used in assisting the needy this Christmas. The gift is part of the company’s active corporate citizenship. This morning, we spoke with the Director of Operations at Transparent BPO who told us about the contribution.
Rob Johnson, Director of Operations, Transparent BPO
“Transparent BPO has been a part of Belize City since 2009 and we’ve always felt that it’s important to give back to the community and we’ve typically done so not only by providing jobs but also by making contributions to worthy causes within Belize City. And we felt like it was especially important to give to an organization that best supports the people in need for food, clothing and just basic necessitates and we felt like salvation army really represents that well in Belize City. They put the dollars that receive directly back into the communities by giving to families in need. We normally give back to the community in form of scholarships to the children and we are still doing that this year, a little later this year. But this is the first time that we have given to an organization such as Salvation Army directly. Internally we are proud to be over 500 employees now. You know we started over five years ago with forty employees. We do things all year round for our employees and most recently we had a Christmas party right here on Saturday which was a lot of fun even though we had a lot of rain but we also give many bonuses to our employees in the form that they earn and one of those was just paid out this year. So every week where they have perfect attendance they have 20 dollars that goes into a bank account and we have payouts every year and so they just received their payout for that, we call it in an insurance bonus, so many people got several hundred dollars for that from Transparent BPO.”
Major Joliker Leandre, Regional Commander, Salvation Army
“We are very grateful for companies like that who come on board. Every year we have a set target and last year because of their response we have increased the target amount of people that we will assist this year. So last year instead of 600 this year we assisted 800 hundred families. And we do that blindly by faith hoping that God is going to provide because last year we had a main sponsorship which was yellow pages but this year we didn’t have one. We are so happy that these companies have come on board and they have contributed significantly and transparent BPO we are very grateful to them for this money. The money received for the year that’s what takes us throughout the year. Our service for the community is not only for Christmas. It is for the entire year so whatever contribution we received this year is what will take us through. So we are very grateful to the entire community and for this organization.”
