Karaoke master cuts first CD
His talent was exposed to thousands over television and now viewers will be able to have him–or at least his voice–at home.
Jacqueline Woods, Reporting
The last time twenty-two year old Sheridath Williams appeared on Channel 5 was as one of the finalists in the 2003 Karaoke Show. This year he?s back hoping to garner support for his first album release, ?My Words?.
Sheridath Williams, Singer
?Well I have been around and around and everybody are asking when are you going to bring out this CD. Some of the songs I have from two or three years ago when I used to work at Ludwig. I put some money into it and say it?s about time I do something about it. Even if it doesn?t sell millions, at least I released something.?
?It?s not all Souls; it?s not all Hip Hop. It?s like the first two tracks are R&B, then you go into some Dancehall Reggae and then you come back to Soca. So it?s like a whole lot of mixture of everything I like. There is no one thing; just bring it all together.?
Jacqueline Woods
?You wrote all sixteen songs??
Sheridath Williams
?Well two of them are remade. I did ?Preaching? over from Barry White and I did ?Stand By Me?. But other than that, all the rest I wrote them. I sat down and took the love out my heart or the pain out my heart and put them onto paper.?
Jacqueline Woods
?Now I know you like all the songs that are on the album. But what?s your favourite??
Sheridath Williams
?Number two is ?Why? and number three is ?Thank You?. That?s saying thank you to the man up above for me giving a kinda alright voice. I kinda could sing a little bit right. I want to thank the man for the talent that he gave me.?
Williams, who is an employee of Alliance Bank Limited says he is optimistic about the release
Sheridath Williams
?Everybody is saying that they are ready for this CD now. From the last Karaoke that I was on, everybody is saying that I need to bring out something to let everybody know that Sheridath could sing a little bit too or could cry on a tune. So that?s why I tried to bring out this one right now.?
