Third suspect collared in B.W.S. robbery

And in a follow up to our coverage of the robbery of the Belize Water Services office in Belmopan, police today wrapped up their investigation after the third suspect was taken into custody. According to Sergeant Sinquest Martinez, the community played a big role in catching the criminals.

?We have recovered over three thousand dollars and all parties involved have been arrested and charged for two counts of robbery and one count of harm. The third person was caught this morning in Belize City by the name of Kendis Diego.?

?Mr. Diego used to live here in Belmopan so he masterminded everything because the other two suspects are not familiar with Belmopan. With the assistance of the residents of Site Seven, we were fortunate to apprehend Jovanni Theus and that?s when we recovered all the money.?

?Well they assisted us in apprehension of the criminals so I will definitely give credit to them and wish they continue to assist us in this fight against crime. And I have an advice I would like to give to both the citizens: the law-abided citizens and the criminals of Belmopan. To the law-abided citizens, it is time for us to get security conscious and to the criminals, don?t come into Belmopan and feel like you are going to get away with any crime because you will be dealt with.?
