Keyren Tzib in Court for Preliminary Inquiry

Coastguard Keyren Tzib was granted bail in the lower court two days before last Christmas and today she walked into courtroom on her own free will. She is accused with the manslaughter of her common-law husband, Thytis Blancaneaux in 2015. Tzib was never charged for murder because she claimed she stabbed Thytis after he repeatedly hit her. That aside, she is also facing a charge of attempted murder on her coastguard colleague, Kurt Hyde, which occurred before the alleged manslaughter of her husband. But it is the manslaughter case that is being dealt with first since Prosecutor, Inspector Egbert Castillo, told the court that Tzib’s case file for attempted murder remains at the D.P.P.’s Office.  In disclosure today, it was learnt that the stabbing of Thytis occurred at the couple’s Lord Bank’s home, following an evening of socializing during which the couple got into a heated argument. Tzib reportedly produced a knife and stabbed Blancaneaux. After being charged with Manslaughter on September second, 2015, she applied for bail before Justice Troadio Gonzalez but was unsuccessful.  Justice Gonzalez took into consideration strong objections from the crown as well as testimony from Doctor Richard Olivera, who confirmed that Tzib is afflicted with an acute disorder known as anxiety syndrome. The two cases against her are adjourned for February fifth, 2016.
