Entertainment awards boost music industry
Getting shows off the ground is no easy task, particularly without a whole lot of resources. But on Saturday night the first Belizean Entertainment Award Show made its debut at the Bliss and, good to the promoter’s word, the red carpet arrivals did not disappoint. As for the awards themselves Heights of Vibes took top honours for best Dance Hall Group, the Heavenlies scored big with best Gospel Band and album of the year, Rohjani and Tremmett Perriot won best female and male vocalist respectively, Belizean Movements took best sound system, Edith Tesecum best radio DJ, Kenny Morgan best poet, Supa G top Punta Rocker and Ras Indio best Dancehall/Reggae artist.
