Search for Suspected Aircraft in Corozal District
At news time tonight, Police Officers from Corozal and a team from the Civil Aviation Department are scouring the cane fields behind Louisville in the Corozal District. Just before midday today, reports circulated that a small plane went down somewhere in the vicinity of that community at around mile seventy-three on the Phillip Goldson Highway. Since then, Police have been on the scene, but we are told that because night has set in they will likely give up on the search. The Civil Aviation Department is likewise constrained. All they have to go on are reports of a plane landing – whether voluntarily or involuntarily – in that area. There is no confirmation from Corozal Police if the search will continue at first light tomorrow.
