Career Criminal Shot by Fearful Homeowner
Career criminal Kareem Smith is tonight at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital recovering from multiple gunshot wounds. Smith, twenty-seven, was shot in the back, chest, neck and both hands by a man who told Police he acted to save his own life. According to the Police report, on Sunday afternoon an unnamed person was at a residence at the corner of Pitts Alley and Castle Street when another man ran into the home. He was being followed by Kareem Smith who allegedly had a gun in his hand preparing to fire. The unnamed man told Police that he was afraid that he or his friend would be shot, so he took out his licensed weapon and shot Smith. Police caught up to Smith at the K.H.M.H. where he had gone seeking medical attention. Two persons are currently detained for questioning while Smith remains at the K.H.M.H. under heavy guard.
