2 Teenagers Remanded for Stealing Nike Slippers
Two teenagers were in court today for allegedly stealing a pair of Nike slippers from a fourteen year old boy; an allegation for which they are now behind bars. Ulide Allen of an Antelope Street Extension and Norton Tun, both eighteen years old, were jointly charged with one count each of robbery upon Damion Saladin. The robbery is said to have occurred on January twenty-second, 2016 on Partridge Street, Belize City. The minor says that the duo slammed into him as he rode his bike and when he fell they took possession of his slippers.
Prosecutors in the case, Inspector Pablo Pikney objected to bail on the basis that there is a strong case against the two and that they may interfere with the victim and his family also due to the prevalence of the offences against young students. Allen claims he works with his stepfather as an electrician, while Tun told the court that he is in the process of enrolling in school. The two were by Magistrate Carlon Mendoza and remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until February twenty-sixth, 2016.
