Police Investigate Bus Incident

As we’ve told you, there is some confusion coming out of the crowded bus, and Police are being kept busy finding out exactly what happened. Several persons have allegedly claimed that there was a weapon with what looked like a silencer attached. That would account for the lack of noise. The badly bleeding Thomas was rushed in an unconscious state to the San Ignacio Hospital. Comments just after the incident from persons who were on the bus are on indication of the chaos and confusion which is complicating the investigation at this time.

“I neva hear no noise like that; like weh di people dehn say. Dehn say they see a silencer on the thing and I mi deh way dah front so I noh know weh really gone on. When I come dah back, I just see blood and I could see it look like something like wah gunshot fi real ina ih head but I noh really know weh gone on. The man just walk; I mi think dah wah regular passenger and the man just walk pass the bus, jump through the back door and just do weh ih got fi do and jump out back out of the back door.”

“Is it true that the person get in dah terminal or right ya?”

“Ih get in right yah so man…right down di hill dah Roger by the bar deh. But dehn mi got dehn own lee commotion way from the terminal deh. I noh know how bally get yah or what, but ih neva get yah on the bus. Dah when the bus stop just now, he mi deh ina the village yah and just walk up to the bus and do weh he got fi do.”

“I hear somebody get shot right, but the bus just kept running and then I was in the front by the door, in the front seat. So when the bus stopped, we went and look in the back and the guy was bleeding from the head; that’s what we see.”

“Nobody see dah who do it?”

“Nobody recognize him. They saw the person, but they don’t know who was the guy. So he just jumped from the bus and run into t e bush. So we never see. We never recognize who he was. I see him jump in the bus at terminal in Cayo, but I don’t know how he reached here. And when the bus stop, he jumped through the back, straight to the man and shot the man or I think knock the man with the gun.”

According to Reyes investigators are at the San Ignacio Hospital waiting for Thomas to be released, and also for doctors to confirm the cause of the injury to his head.
