Paul Massam Gunned Down in Corozal

Peter Serano

Murder victim number twelve is from Corozal Town where the second murder for today took place in broad daylight. Around eight-thirty this morning several shots rang out in the Skeleton Town area of the northern municipality. Twenty-eight year old Paul Massam had been executed; he was shot twice to the head by a lone gunman at his house although police are looking for three suspects. But tonight police still don’t have a motive for the first murder in that jurisdiction. News Five spoke with Deputy Commander of the Corozal Police, Assistant Superintendent Peter Serano about via phone today about the murder.

On the Phone: ASP Peter Serano, Deputy O.C., Corozal Police

“On arrival at the scene, we were told that a male person was shot and was transported to the Corozal Hospital. A team then immediately proceeded to the hospital and on arrival at the hospital, the lifeless body of the male person was seen with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the right and left side of the face and to the right palm. We later learn the victim to be Paul Massam, twenty-eight years old. Initial investigation reveals that Paul Massam was at his house when he was approached by a lone gunman who fired three shots at him, fatally wounding him. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. We are presently looking for three persons who we believe can assist us in this investigation.”

“Paul Massam yes has a record, but I can say that over the past year or so, Paul Massam hasn’t been to the police station for any criminal activities. Like I said the motive has not been ascertained and we are looking in all angles to solve this murder.”
