Stitchie will headline Jesus Festival

Story Picture
In Gospel music circles, he is no stranger and this weekend Cleve Laing, also known as Stitchie will be on stage at the Belize City Centre throwing down some serious vibes. Stitchie will be the headline artist at what organisers say is the rebirth of the Jesus Festival, a throwback to the eighties when local bands regularly hosted family oriented concerts. Shortly after his arrival, Laing told News 5 that the audience should come prepared to receive a blessing.

Cleve ?Stitchie? Laing, Artist

?They are going to see Christ. I?m just a vessel, I?m just a messenger, just a messenger of the Kingdom of God. It is an honour to be here. I came here the very first time and I was awarded the key to the City of Belize. I believe that gave me the opportunity to lock away and to unleash and to lock away the things of the kingdom of darkness and to unleash the kingdom of light here upon this nation, to uplift it to a new level.?

Patrick Jones

?Do you bringing any special message??

Cleve ?Stitchie? Laing

?Well the message is simple and the message is easy to welcome one and all to become a part of the Kingdom of God. The kingdom of god is at hand. And that?s the message I?m bringing and using reggae music as the medium to bring it, hence the album is called ?Kingdom Ambassador?.?

?And I am singing in Spanish for the very first time. When I came here the first time, I got motivated that I needed to have some more of this done. Even though I am not a fluent speaker of the language, you know, un poquito, I still believe that I need to carry that message because there are others that will be touched because of the language that we are speaking.?

Marco Villanueva, Promoter, Jesus Festival

?If you have ever gone to a Heavenlies concert, you know its not just sit down and listen. I mean, Stitche, same thing. You ever hear him sing, from the time the rhythm start get in you, you want to dance. I mean, nobody said Christians are to be boring. It?s going to be a live concert. The last time he was here he did an excellent job. Everybody had great reviews about him. And he has a new album ?Kingdom Ambassador? and that album, the fast and praise song is very hype. Young people, we encourage them to come out as an alternative to other activities that will be happening this weekend.?

Patrick Jones

?When is the concert and where??

Marco Villanueva

?It?s going to be November twentieth, Saturday, at the Belize City Centre, at eight PM sharp.?

Tickets for the show are on sale at outlets in Belize City at twenty-five dollars adults and ten dollars children. At the door, adults will pay five dollars more. Villanueva says the Jesus Festival is a joint promotion of Eagle’s Nest International Church and the Heavenlies Gospel Band. By the way, the guy in the baseball cap who walked by Villanueva during the interview was Leonardo DiCaprio on his way to some R and R at San Pedro.
