Two arrested for Cayo jacking
Police in Cayo had better luck in capturing two of four people who held up the Three Flags Service Station in Unitedville last week Friday. Investigations have led to the arrest of Arleigh Guild and Germaine Smart, both twenty-four years old and residents of Belize City. They have each been charged with three counts of robbery, one count of keeping an unlicensed firearm and one count of keeping an unlicensed ammunition. According to police reports, on the night of November twelfth, four men in a black Toyota held up held up the proprietor of the establishment and stole six hundred and forty-nine dollars in cash along with some jewellery and cameras. They tried to outrun police but their vehicle crashed a short distance away and police managed to detain Smart. While the others got away, police traced smart, the owner of the vehicle, using his driver’s license, which was left in the vehicle. Two other people remain on the run.
