SUV and Truck Collide on the Haulover Bridge
There was an accident on the Haulover Bridge at around three-fifteen this afternoon, when the driver of a red SUV apparently lost control and crashed into a large truck. There were no apparent serious injuries, but the driver of the SUV, Raquel Burke, was rushed to the hospital by ambulance since she appeared to be in the final stages of her pregnancy. Police stayed on the scene for more than an hour clearing the bridge and freeing up traffic which was blocked on both sides of the bridge.
Insp. Juanito Cocom, O.C., Ladyville Police
“About forty-five minutes ago, Ladyville police responded to the scene of this accident at the northern approach of the Haulover Bridge. Upon arrival we saw a red Xterra vehicle to the side of the bridge. Investigation reveal that the said vehicle driven by Miss Raquel Burke, lost control upon approaching the northern side of the Haulover Bridge slamming into a dump truck that was coming in the opposite direction. She lost control, slammed her vehicle and the vehicle ended on the railing of the Haulover Bridge itself. We did not observe any external injuries. BERT was at the scene and they took Miss Burke to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.”
