Police Locate Stolen Pickup
Since Sunday, Police have been on the lookout for a red 2001 Mazda pickup, stolen on the old Western highway from Jorge Lopez. Lopez was accosted by two men, one of whom shot him once in the back and then attempted to shoot him in the head following the assault and robbery of two Canadian tourists at the Tropical Education Center off the George Price Highway. The gun misfired, and in the ensuing struggle, one of the attackers was chopped by Lopez. The two men managed to get in the vehicle and drive away, but today Hattieville Police report that they have recovered that pickup in the nearby community of Mahogany Heights.
Insp. Rochelle Chan, O.C., Hattieville Police
“I can say that the vehicle was found based upon information received by Ladyville and Hattieville Police. It was recovered about two hundred and fifty miles behind the Mahogany Heights community on a logwood trail. It apparently seems to have sustained some minor damages and we have it presently in the police station at Hattieville compound.”

“Sir we know that the police are seeking one other person in relation to that incident. Is that person believed to be from the community of Mahogany Heights?”
Insp. Rochelle Chan
“I don’t want to really elaborate. We are investigating and we are hoping that the investigation might lead to another person to be arrested and charged for the crimes committed on the tourists and on Mister George Lopez.”
