Jerson Grinage Stabbed in Mahogany Heights Altercation
Another notorious figure is recovering from injuries he received during a fight Saturday night in Mahogany Heights. Jerson Grinage was cut to the back of his head, to his forehead and to the right side of his face after he tangled with Ervin Fitzgibbon at a local Chinese store. Police have been having a tough time cleaning up Mahogany Heights, the neglected community which has the potential to become the Rural Eastern Division’s prime hotspot. Today the RED’s top cop told us that they will charge both men for the incident.
Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster, Commander, Rural Eastern Division
“Jerson Grinage was stabbed to the head by one Ervin Fitzgibbon. Initially Jerson Grinage did not want any court action. As a matter of fact this incident happened in the presence of two Police officers. We are pursuing charges against both individuals for aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.”
Insp. Rochelle Chan, Commander, Hattieville Formation
“It happened near Annie’s Shop, a Chinese establishment. It appears that the guys met at the area there and a feud ensued causing such injuries to occur.”
Both men appeared in Magistrate’s Court today and were charged for Aggravated Assault – Fitzgibbon with a bottle opener and Grinage with a bottle. Despite both men insisting that they would not press charges, they were formally arraigned and offered bail. Up to news time neither of them could meet bail and both were remanded to the Belize Central Prison.
