Decision in Keyren Tzib PI Reserved

Keyren Tzib

Female coastguard officer, Keyren Tzib, went back to court this morning. She is accused of manslaughter in the stabbing death of her boyfriend, Thythis Blancaneaux on July eighteenth, 2015 in Lords Bank, Ladyville. The preliminary inquiry began around nine-fifty this morning to determine whether Tzib, who suffers from depression, will stand trial at Supreme Court. Darrell Bradley, on behalf of Tzib, told the court that there is no prima facie case established against her. Bradley said that the accounts of the prosecution’s two main witnesses, show that Thythis was aggressive toward  her and that she acted in self-defence. Two witnesses, Maximo Tejeda and Jesselle Pilgrim, were present when the incident occurred and according to Bradley there are discrepancies in their statements. Bradley made the point that Thythis attacked her with a bamboo stick, beating her until she got into the house and that it was in fact Thythis who had introduced a knife. Pilgrim, pointed out Bradley, heard noises and scuffling but did not see fully what happened. Soon after ten this morning, attorney Bradley concluded his submissions and prosecutor, Corporal Christopher Smith responded and it is now left in the hands of the Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith to decide whether or not Tzib will stand trial at the Supreme Court. The Chief Magistrate said she needs time to consider submissions before she makes her final decision on March thirtieth.
