Thieves caught red handed in PG
A trio of burglars plying their trade early this morning in Punta Gorda town found themselves face to face with the police. Around two this morning a concerned citizen called PG’s police station after they observed suspicious activity inside Mel’s Store on Main Street. Quick response by the cops nabbed two men who were seen fleeing the area. A third was cornered inside the building and taken into custody. Police say the burglars gained entrance to the building through a small opening above the steel door in the front. While nothing was stolen from the business establishment, all three will be charged with burglary tomorrow morning in Punta Gorda?s Magistrate’s Court.
Meanwhile, cops in Belize City are still on the lookout for the thief or thieves who robbed our own news reporter Patrick Jones. According to Jones, sometime on Tuesday, someone got into his house by prying open the burglar bars on one of the bedroom windows and stole three laptop computers. Late this evening police confirmed that they are following up on several leads as at least one witness has reported seeing someone on bicycle entering the yard and going to the back of the house around midday on Tuesday. Anyone with information on the stolen items is asked to call the nearest police station.
