Faber Says He Has Staying Power to Guarantee Leadership
The Patrick Faber campaign was launched this afternoon amid much fanfare within the United Democratic Party. While a date for the convention is yet to be determined, it is expected that delegates will go to the polls no later than mid-July. But Faber is first out of the gate and is heavily supported by the young and old, but can he sustain that momentum in the months ahead? Well, according to Faber, his campaign is only just starting and he maintains that there is enough staying power to steer him to victory.
Patrick Faber, Candidate, U.D.P. Deputy Party Leader
“I believe that I have that agility and that longevity, so that what you see is the burst of energy that will be maintained throughout the entire campaign. You know June or July as you put it is not far away and I am positive that we can maintain the kind of momentum that we are starting with. I believe that very soon we will have a national party council where the date of that convention will be discussed and we will try to find a good date. I believe May-June as you so rightly pointed out may well be the time and we will work hard consistently over that very short period to make sure that things go in our favor.”

“Sir and then are you able to say what will differentiate this campaign from your last failed campaign t be first deputy?”
Patrick Faber
“I would want to agree with my colleague “Wally” who said that we did not fail. I don’t agree with you at all. I have no regrets about putting myself forward that last time around and in fact it is based on that platform that I run again. It is based on the fact that all those persons who were delegates then, many of them remain delegates today and are saying we made the wrong decision the last time. It is a democratic process, we made that decision; Faber we are sorry, we want to go the other route. We see you now as being the new leader of the party; we see that this can be an opportunity—as you heard my colleagues say—for you to grow and I take that very well…the points that my colleagues have pointed out. And you know that I’ve readily conceded that I am not perfect, but that I believe that I have a good number of the requirements to be able to lead this party and eventually this country. We will definitely put that into full employment so that we are able to deliver the victory of the Patrick Faber candidacy.”
