Who murdered ‘Fat Cat’ in Ladyville last Friday?  That’s what investigators want to know.  Despite an open inquiry into the weekend murder of Rene Chavarria, police are no closer to making an arrest since they do not have sufficient proof of guilt.  The deadly shooting on Marage Road also left a minor injured with a gunshot wound to the left leg.  While the teenager may not have been the intended target, the shooter in this case has been detained pending charges.

“As it pertains to Chavarria’s murder, we had one suspect in custody who was identified by the minor and he will be charged for aggravated assault and using deadly means of harm.  As it pertains to the murder of Chavarria, we don’t have any evidence as yet to tie anyone to that particular murder but the investigation continues and we are working on that as we speak.”
