Teen flung to death in N. Hwy accident
A traffic accident on the Northern Highway has claimed the life of a fifteen year old hitchhiker. According to police reports, late Saturday night, thirty year old Jerome Goff was heading home from a party when he stopped at the airport junction in Ladyville to pick up a young man whom he knew only as Bobo. “Bobo” jumped into the pan of the vehicle and the two headed towards Belize City. But somewhere between miles seven and eight, the vehicle spun out of control and as the truck careened off the road, the teenager was flung into the bush. He was rushed to the KHMH suffering from severe head and body injuries but was pronounced dead on arrival. Bobo has since been identified as fifteen year old Chad Harris of a St. Martins de Porres address. Up to news time tonight, no charges had been filed against Goff and authorities continue to investigate what might have caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
