Man dies in motorcycle crash
Investigations continue into a motorcycle accident in Belize City that left a young man dead. Around eleven Monday morning, twenty-two year old Haseef Hassan was driving a GSXR 750 on Seashore Drive when something went very wrong. The bike slammed into this cement fence and stayed there for the entire length of the property. Tracks in the ground indicate that it then hit this lamppost, sending the bike one direction and Hassan to the left of the street. The cyclist, suffering from severe head and body injuries, was rushed to the KHMH but he died some four hours later in the Accident and Emergency Unit. According to officials at the traffic department, Hassan was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. News 5 understands that Hassan was contemplating buying the motorcycle from a friend and had been on a test run that morning just two streets from his home.
