No arrests yet in mysterious death of pregnant woman
In the north, detectives continue to investigate the mysterious death of eighteen year old Mary Enns. Enns, eight months pregnant at the time, had been reported missing on September third by her husband Jacob. But five days later, her badly decomposed body was found floating in the Rio Verde River in the Orange Walk District. Shortly after her body was discovered, police detained Jacob Enns for questioning but he was released for lack of evidence. Throughout questioning Enns maintained that he last saw his wife alive and well at their home in Blue Creek Village on Thursday September second. Police pathologist Dr. Mario Estradabran has issued a death certificate in the name of Mary Enns, but due to the advanced state of decomposition was unable to determine the cause of death. The young woman had only recently gotten married and moved to Blue Creek with her husband. Family members say she was eager to become a mother. Orange Walk police tell News 5 they continue to probe for clues in this case and investigators are asking anyone with information to please contact the nearest police station or call the hotline 9-2-2.
