YMCA seeks to motivate young people
Twenty-one year old Belizean Andujar Bradley, is not only a model for Ralph Lauren, but he is the founder and executive director of a New York based youth organization, Team Revolution. Because Bradley has worked so effectively, The Young Men’s Christian Association wasted no time in bringing him to their compound to meet with a group of youths who have had a difficult start in life.
Andujar Bradley, Founder, Team Revolution
?You know when I work with young people wherever I go, I never really look at their ethnical background or at their nationality per say. I always look at them as human being and I talk to them from being to a next. That’s how I communicate with different people from around the world and I don’t find it difficult. I find the almost difficult thing that a lot of young people would become driven and enthuse to live a lifestyle that I live and giving back and being a role model. There isn’t a lot of opportunities and resources here in Belize. But my thing is, I always tell them to create a possibility while being here.?
Kenrick Williams, Programme Coordinator, YMCA
?The young people who we have here today are young people who have either had problem with law, who had a problem in school or people in poverty. So it’s just for him to give them a different perspective in life basically.?
On Monday, Bradley held a three-hour training session for the YMCA staff. He is the son of the late Alger Bradley.
