Several Belizean artists and bands have been selected for an opportunity of a lifetime; to represent Belize in the 2016 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Popularly known as the Jazz Fest, Belize and our artists will be featured in the event that runs from April twenty-second to May first. Artists such as Supa G, Brother David and Soca Dandada TR Shine and his band are in the lineup to represent the Jewel. “It was actually a group of people from America that came along and started to look at the Belizean artist and actually they are celebrating Belize this year in the New Orleans Jazz Festival as one of the main countries that they usually do like every other country. So they went around looking for bands in Belize and fortunately ours was picked. So we are actually here trying to get into the U.S. to attain a P3 Visas, which is a permanent artist working visa. The event should be the eighteenth of April right here; well that’s the travel date that we are supposed to leave. So we are looking in order to get something in terms of help for them to get us out there. We’ve tried out best and like I’ve said, the [Music] Ambassador has been looking everywhere to get assistance in order to get this thing going through. Yes we did get the press kit done by BELTRAIDE and that was Thomas who did that for me so I give ‘nough thanks for that.”
