Weapons cache found in Corozal
Corozal police are tonight slapping themselves on the back after a tip led to the discovery of an arsenal of weapons and ammunition. According to authorities, responding to information from an anonymous caller, members of the Special Branch went to a bushy area near San Victor Village and under a fallen tree, discovered several wrapped bundles. Inside, police found two hand grenades, a point thirty-eight Smith and Wesson revolver, a tech nine automatic pistol, a thirty-thirty rifle, three magazines, sixty-six rounds of assorted ammunition and two ski masks. We understand that everything found was in good working condition and may be the firearms used in crimes in the Corozal and Orange Walk district, specifically the robbery of the Belize Bank in Orange Walk. No one was ever arrested for that incident in March, which left one of the robbers dead and the remaining five on the loose without the cash. If you have any information that may assist the police in their investigations, please call the nearest station or the 9-2-2 Crimestoppers hotline.
