Stabbed to death on way to Baby Shower
The President of Taiwan has come and gone, the government in Belmopan is busy trying to shore up the nation’s finances, and the Opposition is quietly planning its next move in the Social Security scandal. That has given the good citizens of Belize the chance to get back to what we do best: kill each other. This weekend there were three separate incidents of murder: two in Belize City and one in San Ignacio. News 5’s Jacqueline Woods has been following the cases and finds that the tragic stabbing of a woman on Saturday night was definitely not your typical urban homicide.

“And so much dig and scratch she had on her and she was bawling fro help and nobody was there to support or help my child.”
Jacqueline Woods, Reporting
Sometime around nine on Saturday night, twenty-five year old Keisha Lavern Gordon, a domestic employee at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, left her home on the south side of Belize City to attend a baby shower on the north side. She never made it. Police, responding to reports of a female crying out for help, found Gordon?s bloody body lying in an alley that connects Princess Margaret Drive and Lizarraga Avenue in the Kings Park Area. It displayed multiple stab wounds to the neck and body. A blood trail at the crime scene suggests the killer or killers held Gordon up against this concrete fence and stabbed her. It appears that she tried to get out of the alley, but collapsed along the way.

“According to what her gentleman told us, she was going to a baby shower, but she never did reach the baby shower. They attacked her before she reached the baby shower because they even found the cake. The policeman find the cake in the drain.”
But who would want to kill Keisha Gordon?
Elsie Mae Gordon
“Keisha is a very quiet person. She no interfere with people and she is humble. You can send her anywhere; anybody can send her out there to run an errand for them. She is not quarrelsome or nothing.”
“Everybody miss her; everybody is shock because they can’t believe they kill Keisha. They can?t believe it because right now, nobody in the family can’t sleep.”
Following the murder, authorities did detain Gordon’s live in boyfriend but this morning he was released from custody. The family says they do not believe the boyfriend was involved, but suspect an alleged relationship he had with another person may have led to the killing. The family says some time ago they became aware that Gordon was being harassed by a female and reports they have been receiving suggest the young woman and a man may have committed the crime.

“The a girl and boy who did it to my daughter ina grey car. They parked the grey car and walked and followed my daughter. When they get halfway, my daughter ask what are you following me for? And they still continued to follow my daughter and they dragged her which part they wanted to kill her and then they start to beat her up. My daughter started to fight back with them you know and she was bawling for help but nobody assist my daughter.”
“She knew them that’s why they killed her she knew the person because it’s somebody that was always messing with her you know and they throw phrase at her.”
Gordon says she was not informed about her daughter’s murder until some ten hours later. Her only wish now is for the police to catch the killer or killers. Sources tell News 5 the police have been looking for a woman to assist them with the investigation, but so far have been unable to locate her. Jacqueline Woods for News Five.
