Two musicians release September CDs

Story Picture
“The best of Tony Wright” is the latest release from the veteran artist. Wright says the album consists of thirteen songs that have all been well received by Belizeans. Today the musician stopped by our studios to promote the CD for the upcoming September celebrations.

Tony Wright, Recording Artist

“Most of them were some of the songs that we did before from I started “King inna the Country” and come up to 2000, which was the last one. So we put back most of them on it in a remix sort of form. Then we have some new ones on this one: “That September Feeling” and that’s about September and how it used to be in Belize where we used to go out at Memorial Park and see “Vytes of Belize”, “Batter the Bang”…”Youth Festival” and all these things the songs deal with.”

Meanwhile, Wright is inviting the public to support the annual Sound Fest. The event takes place on September eleventh at the Belize City Centre. There will be sixteen local acts and a special guest appearance by Aziatic.

Meanwhile a band which has been around since the late seventies has also released its latest CD. According to recording artist Lucio Alcoser of Lucio and the New Generation, the album is the band’s fourth release and it was produced mainly for the September Celebrations.

“So it’s just time for the September Celebrations?”

Lucio Alcoser

“Yes! Actually one of the songs is “Its September Time Again”. So it’s my second song that I have written for the celebration because, I don’t know if you are aware that when Belize obtained independence, all the bands in Belize had to write a song relating to independence of Belize in 1981. Fortunately, I won the first prize for the song, “September 21st, it’s Independence Day” “.

The new CD will be available on Monday at all leading record stores.
