Eighteen year old gets fifteen years for Manslaughter
Also in the courts, a man charged with manslaughter will be spending fifteen years in prison. Eighteen year old Adrian Morris was charged with the killing of seventy-one year old Juan Tut. Justice Adolph Lucas sentenced Morris after he pleaded guilty to the crime, which took place in 2007 when Morris was only fifteen years old. Justice Lucas said in his ruling that he took into consideration the testimony of two witnesses and that Morris was attending school. The incident took place following an altercation between two men on the Coastal Road near La Democracia. Tut was brutally stabbed and his throat was slit. The fifteen year sentence is to take effect from June twenty-second, the day he pleaded guilty to the offense.
