Bredda David releases new music video
Late August and September is traditionally the time that Belizean musicians release their latest recordings, just in time for the celebrations. This year, one local artist has put a new twist on an old practice.

“Belizean Products” the latest music video to hit the local scene. The song, produced by the Kungo Music creator Bredda David Obi and his family, was chosen by the tourist industry to promote the country as a destination.

“Well for one, for many years, I have already seen that it would be necessary. We needed Belizean artist and music to represent the music we will use for our industry. Like I was saying, I got together with my two sons, and explained to them what I would want to do. I did the arrangement for the music and I explained to them that we will name the song “Belizean Product”. I wrote three verses, Nikoma wrote two and Dave wrote one. We put the music together and we started to play it for the people and we noticed that the reaction was very, very good and people loved it immediately.”
The four minute video not only seeks to whet the appetite of visitors, but the many scenes of local produce may get more Belizeans to support our local producers…as well as promote some Belizean pride.
“Belizean Products”, which received assistance from the National Institute of Culture and History, was shot and edited by Channel 5’s Rick Romero. It forms part of a compilation DVD of Bredda David videos that will be available at most music outlets next week.
