Passport shortage ends as first batch arrives
It was one of those news items that fell through the cracks in the midst of last week’s political turmoil…but viewers should be happy to hear that there is no longer a shortage of Belize passports. A release from the Immigration Department confirms that the first shipment of new passports has been received from the security printers in London and personnel are working hard to clear the backlog of applications. That waiting list should be dealt with by the end of the month. People who have postponed their applications until now should note that the waiting time may still run as long as four weeks.
