Steven Young Arraigned for Attempted Murder after Bar Fight
Twenty-five year old Steven Young is serving his first night in prison for the attempted murder of a Lord’s Bank resident, who was stabbed during an altercation inside Ruba’s Bar this past Saturday. Young was arraigned before Magistrate Deborah Rogers for attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm upon Brandon Stevens. The stabbing was triggered when Young saw his common-law wife sitting in the company of four men inside the bar. He asked her for the house key and Stevens, one of the four men in the group, made a remark to the effect that some men do not know how to treat women. An altercation followed and Young reportedly left the bar, went across the street and returned when another fight broke. Young is said to have introduced an ice pick with which Stevens was stabbed to the chest. Young was arraigned and is remanded to the Belize Central Prison until June twenty-ninth, 2016.
