Belize City Man Remanded for Sexual Assault

A twenty-six year old man who behaved inappropriately by touching a ten young girl on her rear was taken to court today. The incident took place on Sunday and Ashton Lambey told the minor not to speak of the matter. But the young girl reported it to her sister and mother and that landed him into police custody. This morning, Lambey was arraigned in the courtroom of Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith; he pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault upon a ten-year old child. The girl reported that she was doing homework, when her sister asked her to fetch a broom in the lower flat of their house. She so did, but Lambey had the broom and after retrieving it from him, he patted her on her buttocks. For that, Lambey will be spending two months behind bars.
