Teenage Wounded in Belize City Shooting
Nineteen-year-old Chioma Williams is recovering from injuries she received during a shooting incident in Belize City on Tuesday night. Williams reported to police that shortly after eight o’clock, she was walking near the intersections of Freetown and Barrack roads when a pair of unknown men rode up on a motorcycle. It is unclear whether the young lady was indeed the intended target of the attack; but the men opened fire in her direction. Williams was struck in the buttock and was also grazed on her left hip. The vicinity where the incident occurred is not far from where a previous shooting took place in January involving twenty-nine-year-old Leon Garcia. While the Tuesday’s attack may be unrelated, police are investigating the latest Belize City shooting.
