Ladyville Police Recover Firearm Used in Marage Road Shootout

Edward Broaster

Investigations are ongoing into the deadly exchange of gunfire which claimed the life of Lionel Rhamdas. In that shooting, at least three firearms were involved and police had initially recovered only one, a nine millimeter handgun that was on the ground beside the body of Rhamdas. Assistant Commissioner of Police and Rural Eastern Division Commander Edward Broaster says that his officers have recovered another firearm believed to have been used in the commission of the crime. It is not known, however, whether the recently discovered waepon fired the deadly bullets at Rhamdas.

“As a result of our continuing investigation, we also recovered one point nine millimeter pistol along with eleven rounds of ammunition which we believe was used in the shooting that night. It is being processed to determine whether or not that gun was the gun that fired the fatal shot that took the life of Mister Lionel Rhamdas.”

“In the shooting death of Mister Rhamdas, at least three guns were introduced at the scene—two by Mister Lionel Rhamdas and his accomplices and then one that was introduced from the people that were at the Lozano’s residence. So far you have recovered two of those weapons. Are any of those been linked to the death of Rhamdas and what are the efforts to recover the other weapons?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“None of the firearm at this time, ballistics have not been prepared so we have not gotten a feedback from the firearm exam. And our efforts to recover those guns are in full effect; not only those guns, but other guns that we believe are in the area. And we want to encourage the community to let’s get them one at a time. If the information can be garnered, let us know so that we can take them off the streets.”
