2nd baby drowns in a week
Another baby has died in a drowning incident this time in St. Matthew?s village. According to police, three-year-old Zanqiue Flowers was alone near his home when he wandered near a small pond and fell in. Some time later, family members noticed the child?s absence and a quick search of the area led to the grim discovery. His body was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. This is the second drowning to claim a child?s life in a week. On July twenty-seventh, one-year-old Jaylen Leslie died on Tobacco Caye when he was left unsupervised and fell into the sea. Parents are urged to be especially vigilant with their children near any water bodies or even containers of water.
