2 Dangriga men remanded for riverbank shooting

Meanwhile, two men will also answer charges of attempted murder in Dangriga?s Magistrates Court following a shooting in that town over the weekend. According to authorities, just after midnight on Saturday, twenty-two-year-old Ryan Valerio got involved in a physical altercation with two other men near the riverbank. Sometime during the scuffle, one of the men pulled out a gun and started pulling the trigger. Valerio was shot in his abdomen and right hand. As he lay bleeding on the ground, his two attackers left the area. Valerio was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital for treatment and was discharged this morning. His alleged attackers have been identified as twenty-five-year-old Adolfo Nunez and twenty-five-year-old Emilio Castillo. Nunez has been charged with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and wounding. Castillo will answer to charges of aggravated assault. Both men have been remanded to Hattieville prison until September first.
