New additions improve children?s home

It is a relatively small gesture…but sometimes it?s the little things that mean the most. Jacqueline Woods reports from King?s Park.

It did not take long for the children of Dorothy Menzies Child Care Centre to explore and enjoy the multifunctional play set. Previously a swing and an open field where the boys and girls only venues for outdoor recreation.

?If you had noticed, we built an activity centre and what we try to do in this centre is try to have them do games; sometimes educational games. We have them look at videos; educational videos or even like little cartoons or whatever it is. We have them act out little drama; little old time stories and things like that, but to run around that?s where playground comes in now.?

The play set was donated by a religious group from the Christ Bible Chapel from Forth Worth Texas through My Refuge Ministry in Belize.

?Well these people normally come every summer or every occasion I believe they get–to come and help us with whatever little repairs or whatever it is they can help us with they come.?

However the biggest reward was the smiles and excited interest the children took in the play set. Jacqueline Woods for News Five.
