Cayo man arrested for selling porn

Last week it was the obeah man, today San Ignacio police have busted another local businessman on a seldom used charge. Twenty seven year old Amir Frutos, proprietor of Dalia?s store on Hudson Street, was arrested and charged today for the crime of displaying obscene articles. This follows a raid of his used clothing and appliances store, where police discovered a large quantity of allegedly pornographic DVD’s on sale. A further search conducted at Frutos? home in Santa Elena turned up more of the explicit material. Frutos claims to have downloaded the pictures from the internet, burned the disks locally and offered them to customers. Whatever the case, he was charged today, but up to news time, we could not determine if Frutos had met bail.
