For most people, pay day is still a week away, and even if you don?t have the extra cash to spend, a trip to the Princess Hotel this weekend might not be a bad thing after all. As News 5?s Patrick Jones explains, Belize?s productive sector will put its best foot forward in an attempt to dazzle your eyes…and tickle your pocketbook.

Hundreds of products and services, ranging from banking and e-commerce to entertainment, will be on exhibition this weekend in the fourth annual Belize Producers Convention and Exhibition. Organizer of the two-day event Luz Hunter, says it was a lot of work putting the pieces together.

“We have about eight exhibitors that have come to display their products, to advertise their services. We have a range of products as you have probably see walking around. We?ll also be having some seminars and they are called business enhancement seminars, and they are targeting businesses that have recently started, maybe need a boost.”

While the diversity of goods and services is what makes BelPro ConEx unique, they all have one thing in common: the Made in Belize stamp of approval. So why the need for an event like this?

“Networking mainly to get people that coming in to see what?s being produced in Belize. People in Belize City that maybe don?t know what?s going on, what?s coming from the district. Because we have people from all over the country exhibiting. People have come a long ways and carried a lot of stuff in. And also people from Belize City to see what?s going on in the rest of the country.”

Hundreds of visitors are expected to check out the different booths this weekend to see what?s new, what?s been improved on, and maybe even pick up some bargains on existing stocks. Organizers say there will be something for everyone at this year?s show.
