Belize Sets 6 New Records in Regional Games

According to Deon Sutherland, President of the Belize Athletic Association, all accomplishments by the participating athletes were record setting.

“We attended the Central American Seniors Championship it was in El Salvador from Friday to Sunday and we took a total of twenty-two athletes in both male and female categories in various events.  Overall, our performance was very great.  We had six gold medals and the six gold medals were all record setting medals.  We had four silver and two bronze.”

“The preparations and organizing Belize’s participation in this event, can you speak to us a bit about what that entailed?”

“Well, you know this is an annual championship.  This is one of Central American Championships which is like a qualifier to other games so we have always attended this competition.”
