Gayle Says Project was a Labour of Love

Herbert Gayle

In 2013, Cubola Productions approached the research team with an idea to compile the results of the Gayle Report into book form.  It has been three years since and the result is long in the making.  With all the resources and time invested in the project, Dr. Gayle says that the work is a labor of love.

Dr. Herbert Gayle, Anthropologist

“This is a study that is very unique because it’s actually done on absolutely no payment, nobody, none of the researchers got a dollar to do this study.  Nobody got paid, including the principal investigator, myself.  This is actually done from the hardcore love for humanity and it has moved from then to a second section which is my work and my absence in Jamaica.  Staying in Jamaica and working with the young people here by telephone, lots and lots of telephone calls to find out what’s been happening and then in 2013, Cubola came onboard and says we’re going to publish this thing because it needs to stay on the consciousness of the Belizean people.  So that is why we are here today, launching this product after three years of work with Cubola, to have a rewrite and making sure that nothing came out of the report.  So nothing is lost, only gained and updating the data on what has been happening and that’s why we have this product today.”

The launch today succeeded a forum on Tuesday evening where issues within the book were discussed with an open audience.
